Your First Visit to Our Hampstead Practice

We've prepared this information so you'll know what to expect on your first visits to our office.

You will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

When you arrive to the office we will show you where to sign in, then you will be escorted to a private room. Here you will be asked to complete some brief paperwork describing you, your health history and your health goals. We will show you a very brief video about your first visit.

Next, you will meet with the doctor. We offer this initial consultation so we can both get to know one another. If you're a good candidate for chiropractic care and we think we can help you, an examination follows.

We'll study the way you stand, turn and bend. We may test your reflexes, balance and your posture. Additionally we utilize a computerized device known as a thermal scanner to measure the nervous systems activity along your spine. This painless test takes less than a minute and you will receive a complete print out of the results. These and other physical, orthopedic and chiropractic tests help us locate areas of your spine that could be the cause of your problems.

Pictures of your spine like x-rays and other types of images are helpful (especially after trauma) and can confirm our other findings to make your care more precise. We can tell if we need them after completing our other examinations. Depending on your situation, your initial visit could take as little as 30 minutes or up to 60 minutes. You can reduce your time in our office by preparing your intake paperwork prior to your visit.

We Explain Everything First

The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem.

Our Hampstead area patients seem to appreciate that we explain everything in advance!

Dr. Todd Asks some important questions of interest to Hampstead residents - Chiropractor Hampstead Dr. Todd Asks...

Which organs are extra?
You don't have any spare parts. Sure, we can survive without our tonsils, appendix, gall bladder and several other tissues, but each serves a purpose. We chiropractors recognize this. So the chiropractic approach I use in Hampstead is to reduce nerve interferences to the control and regulation of every tissue, organ and system of your body.
How does headache medication find the headache?
It can't! Chiropractors know that when you ingest a drug and it enters your bloodstream it numbs or deadens your entire body. Chiropractic adjustments, on the other hand, are specific, targeted and delivered with precision.
